A craft project resembling a sad cupcake with a fake burned-out appearance. It has crumpled black and white paper with labels that say 'HORRIBLE' and 'CUPCAKE', and an image of a person's face with a serious expression attached as a topper. The project is set on a silver, crinkled tablecloth with some household items partially visible in the background.

Make Bad Art

The perfect antidote to the horrors

A 90-minute online workshop | €39.00

Saturday 12th July | 5pm CEST

THIS ROUND IS FULLY BOOKED!

To find out when the next date will be, make sure you’re signed up.

What if I told you that making bad art might be the most liberating thing you do this year?

We've been conditioned to believe that art must be perfect, polished, and in order to make anything you need to be ‘talented’ 🤮.

But the truth is that the act of making is one of the most powerful tools in our collective arsenal for reducing stress, healing trauma, and regulating our nervous systems.

Not to mention the fact that when you’re not judging the crap out of everything, making stuff is pure, unadulterated FUN!

This 90-minute online workshop is your invitation to rebel against perfectionism, indulge your inner 5-year-old, and rediscover the pure joy of creating without judgement.

Wanna come and play with me?

FAQ

  • Don’t panic! We’re talking old clothes and newspaper on the kitchen table - not having to redecorate your whole space afterwards.

We’ll be using a bit of paint and glue and you’ll be more comfortable if you can spread out a bit and aren’t worrying about spills. But there’s no need to go full haz-mat!

  • It’ll be small and intimate - no more than 20 people, probably closer to 10.

  • Not at all! If you’re more comfortable off camera and on mute, that’s totally fine.

The focus will be on me, and there’s no need to participate in chats or any other social things if you don’t want to.

  • I’ll still working out the logistics of this - if there’s time and people want to we could do a bit of a show and tell at the end, and/or I’ll look at setting up a Padlet or similar for you to upload pics of your amazing (and they will be) creations.

“Eli has a wonderful, positive and giving personality, which shone at the workshop. I loved the 'we were all in it together' feeling the workshop created. It did not matter if you are good at something else, in this workshop we all shone one way or the other. It was fun and nothing was expected from you.”

- Marina Øster

“This definitely was a fun experience because it's very different from what I normally do. I really enjoyed allowing myself to explore an idea and not knowing in advance if it would be what I imagined from the start.”

- Adam Palmar

“I joined because I wanted to start feeling more creative again. The workshop was great fun, and yes, it definitely made me feel more creative. It reminded me not to overthink things!”

- Beata Zwarycz

“The constraints on the activities (the materials, the goals, the timings) gave us freedom to be creative and play around but not be blocked by the blank page problem. I highly recommend it.”

- Andreia Gaita

“It was great to use paint and make collages and sculptures out of random stuff and not think about what you were doing and why. A refreshing change!”

- Elspeth Lawson

This online workshop is an adaptation of a workshop I sometimes run IRL - I wanted to share some photos of the IRL version here to give you an idea of the vibe - it’s fun, it’s hella messy, and the results are brilliant.
